Nuisance wildlife management is defined as the process of selective removal of problem individuals or populations of certain species of wildlife. Other names are wildlife control and animal damage control. Nuisance wildlife is considered a wild animal that can be perceived as a threat to human health, safety, cause property damage, or is persistent and regarded as an annoyance
Georgia Department of Natural Resources Code Section O.C.G.A. 27-2-31 provides for four different permits for controlling wildlife in certain nuisance situations. These permits (verbal and written) are nuisance wildlife control when wildlife is damaging personal property, deer control on airports, and furbearer control on property managed under a bona fide management plan.
