Insect Spotlight – Hickory Horned Devil

It’s the largest caterpillar species in North America, growing to about 6 inches. The Hickory Horned Devil’s live in the deciduous forest areas of the eastern U.S. They’re more common down south. As far west as eastern Texas and as far east as central Florida. When they are born they are completely black but already have their spikes. They are completely harmless to humans.
